INVENTION
OF BASKETBALL
In
1891, Basketball began and it was invented by James Naismith in Massachusetts
during colder months. When he created this sport, he was a 31 years old graduate
student. He was tasked with creating an indoor sport that would help players to
stay I shape and fit during cold weather. It consisted of peach baskets and
soccer type ball. He divided his class into two teams of nine player and taught
them basics of game. He made 13 rules of this game.

RULES
James
Naismith had created 13 basic rules of basketball.
1. The
ball could be thrown either by one or both hands, in any direction.
2. The
ball could be battled in any direction by one or both hands.
3. Players
could not run with ball; they must throw it from a spot where they caught it.
4. The
ball should be held in hands only, arms or body is not allowed to hold the
ball.
5. No
shouldering, holding, pushing, tripping or striking opponents allowed. The
first infringement of this rule counts as a foul and second one disqualifies
the player until next goal.
6. A
foul is striking or tripping the ball with the fist.
7. If
either side makes three consecutive fouls, then this is counted as a goal for
opponent team.
8. A
goal is made when ball was thrown into basket from ground and stays there. If a
ball rests on edge and if opponent move the basket, then it also count as a
goal.
9. Should
the ball go out of bounds then it shall be thrown into field and played by
first person to touch it.
10. Umpires shall be
the judge of men and will note the fouls and told to referee when three
consecutive fouls have been made.
11. The referee
judges the ball and decides when ball is in play and to which side it belongs. They
also keep time and divide when goal has been made.
12. The time is fifteen-minute
halves, with the rest of five minute between them.
13. The side or team
making most goals in decided time will be the winner. In case of draw, the game
will continue until another goal is made.

players play per team. These are played in half courts as in FIBA.

length football trousers, jersey tights, short padded pants, we saw players in
70s and 80s wear shorter, tighter pants and long socks while players of 21st
century favored the longer, looser jerseys.
