How to Become a Good Teacher

 

Teaching is an art and Teacher is an artist. A teacher can make or mar the life of his/her student. A student spends many of the hours of his day with his teacher. No doubt, the personality of the teacher directly effects the personality of his pupil. After his house, the student learns so much in the school and specially from his teacher. So, in this art of teaching (means making someone able to perform his/her effective duty) a teacher adds symmetry, color, proportion using his personality. So, it becomes necessary that a teacher must be a good teacher also. And there are many qualities that a person who teaches should possess to become a good teacher. 

Here I am going to discuss some of them in the following:

Positive Approach towards Life:

A person who tends to teach must have positive thinking and attitude for life. He must see optimistic side of circumstances around him. Only then he will be able to teach his students to look at favorable side of life. The teacher must have sight to see good in things only then he could guide his students. A teacher with positive outlook can make his students do impossible things possible.

Good Character and Honesty:

A teacher having good character can become his students' favorite. And such teacher can teach his students easily without any difficulty as good character makes the personality more impressive. Honesty helps in making your work much more interesting. A teacher must be honest regarding his job if he wants to be a good teacher.

Patience:

A teacher should have enough patience to face any situation as he has to deal with plenty of students at a time. Every student has his own different personality. Some students are easy to deal with while some create problem for their teacher. So, a teacher should be patient to bear any kind of behavior. And with this calmness, he could be able to change irritating behavior of student.

Courage:

A teacher may be the ideal as well as hero for his students. And they may expect much from their teacher. A teacher should have courage to deal with his own problems and the problems of students as well. He should have nerve to take decision and solve the disturbing matter of his students.

Kindness and Respect:

It is a proverb that “ kindness never goes unrewarded”. So, a teacher should be kind to his students. He should be so good-natured that his students are not hesitant to discuss their matters with him. Every teacher must respect his students and try not to let them down. He always tries to lift them up to make them do miracles.

Strong Character and Personality:

Your personality and strong character help you build authoritative behavior. It is needed to keep a clear distance between teacher and student. It doesn’t mean that there should be a wide communication gap between them. It means to have a distance in order to protect the upper hand of teacher. A teacher with strong personality can keep the students in limits who often try to create trouble. Secondly, a teacher should work on his own appearance. He should maintain his looks and dress as it gives confidence to walk in outer world.

Ambitious person:

An ambitious person can create his own way. So, the person who teaches must have ambitious personality so that he may guide his pupils do wonders. His ambitious nature will motivate the students and urge them to do something great in life. But all this must be on optimistic grounds result in positive outcomes. There should be no negativity in all this.

Conclusion:

To sum up, I must say that these are some qualities that a good teacher must possess in order to have better results in his teaching profession. And to guide his students to the right path.
